Bernice Foster, 74, of Hamburg died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at Beverly Health Care of Crossett. A native of Hamburg, she had been a resident of Hamburg for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker and member of Full Gospel Church of God in Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Adolphus Foster and Ricky Tippie, both of Hamburg; one daughter, Evelyn Simpson and husband Jessie Arnold of Hamburg; four brothers, Lawrence Tippie and Charles Paskel and wife Pam, all of Hamburg, Leslie Tippie of Bastrop, LA, and Wallace Tippie of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Elizabeth Tippie of Los Angeles; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Foster; her parents, William and Annie Bartlett Tippie; two sisters, Mildred Mays and Doris Scott; and one brother, Rev. Rile Tippie.

Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday, March 3, at 1 p.m. at Soldiers Chapel A. M. E. Church with Elder Huey P. Woods officiating. Burial was to follow at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were to be Larry Tippie, Jonathan Young Jr., Barron Johnson, Roderick Scott, Bobby Barnett and Ray C. Woods. Grandsons were to be honorary pallbearers.
