Madge Elizabeth Callins, 79, of Hamburg died Saturday, September 20, 2003, at her residence. A native of Fountain Hill who had resided in Hamburg for the past 50 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Soldiers Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Jones of Crossett, Joel Pete Swain of Lansing, MI and Terry Callins of Dallas, TX; three daughters, Mary "Dinky" Penerman and Marva "Tiny" Snow, both of St. Louis, MO, and Juanita Henderson of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Martield Miller of Fountain Hill and Mary Jones of Los Angeles, CA; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Callins; one daughter, Ella Mae Swain Lanen; her parents, Rev. Thomas and Mattie Smith Daniels; and one brother, Ellie Hugh Blanks.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, at 2 p.m. at Soldiers Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Gwain Hammock officiating. Burial will be at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Visitation will be at Cromwell Funeral Home Wednesday, September 24, from 6-7 p.m.

Pallbearers are to be Greg Swain, Tony Jones, Jamie Pritchard, Rodney Henderson, Jamal Stuke, Ronald Jones, Lonnie Blanks and Samyel Brown. Honorary pallbearers are to be stewards and trustees of Soldiers Chapel A.M.E. Church.
