Death on Friday, June 29, claimed the Rev. Ernest Anderson, aged 96, of El Paso.
Rev. Anderson died one day after his 96th birthday. He was born at El Paso on June 28, 1894.
In his long career as a minister of the Gospel, Rev. Anderson had served Baptist churches at Conway Bono, Bery, Rose Bud, El Paso, Union Valley, Old Austin, Smyrna, Griffithville, Baugh's Chapel, Royal Hill, Mr. Vernon, Mr. Sidon and Vilonia.
Also in his career, Rev. Anderson had been a U.S. Postmaster, a school teacher and a farmer.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Etta Anderson of El Paso; two sons; James D. (Andy) Anderson of El Paso, a retired Brig. General of the Army and Hugh B. Anderson of North Little Rock; one daughter, Lavelle Hooten of North LIttle Rock; seven grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Sunday at the Union Valley Baptist Church near Beebe.
Burial was a Grizzard Cemetery in El Paso by W.L. Westbrook Funeral Home of Beebe.
