BENTONV1LLE — Bonnie Jean Rone, 79, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Washington Regional Hospice in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Frisco, Ark., (near Lowell) to William and Otie McGarrah.
She was proud to have been born and raised in Benton County, and loved her farm and home very much. Together with her husband, she owned and operated a Holstein Dairy Farm for many years and was a member of both the Cattlemen's and CattleWomen's Association. Bonnie had an extensive knowledge of roses, was a member of the American Rose Society and judged many rose shows throughout the country. She spent hours cultivating her many roses and shared her roses and garden with her friends and family. She was the editor of Petal Talk for many years. She was active in the 4-H Club for many years, working with the youth.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Cave Springs for many years and was active in the Gospel Crusaders Class.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Rone, in 1998; and one sister, Elsie Insco.
Bonnie is survived by two sons, Ron Rone and wife, Jane, of Fayetteville, Ark., Don Rone and wife, Monica, of Bentonville, Ark.; two brothers, Harold McGarrah and wife, Faye, of Cave Springs, Ark., Paul McGarrah and wife, Sue, of Hurst, Texas; four sisters, Evelyn Inlow of Healing Springs, Ark., Barbara Sturm, of Springdale, Ark., Yvonne Brandon and husband, John, of Tulsa, Okla., Wanda Brannon and husband, Don, of Vinita, Okla.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Cave Springs, Ark.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Cave Springs, with Pastor Gary Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in honor of Bonnie Rone to the First Baptist Church, 322 S. Main St., Cave Springs, AR 72718.
