Beatrice French Martin, 97 of Conway, went to be with the Lord, Monday, Sept. 2, 2002. She was born Jan. 8, 1905, in Delaplaine, Ark., a daughter of the late John C. French and Gertrude Walden French.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd Martin; and a daughter, Lola Jean Grooms.
During her long life, she had worn many hats. Most importantly she was a Christian, church secretary, organist, employed at WWII draft board and armament plant, in retail, a member of Order of Eastern Star and First Baptist Church in Mayflower.
She is survived by a daughter, Cloycean Bratton of Conway; a son-in-law, Hulan Grooms of Mayflower; five grandchildren, Steve Armstrong of Conway, Jeff Grooms of Missouri, Robert Grooms of North Little Rock, Tim Grooms and Kay Coffman, both of Mayflower; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with the Rev. Ken Reece officiating. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery.
