Obituary: Mr. John David Williamson, 68, of Hamburg died Monday, August 30, 1999, at the VA hospital in Birmingham, AL. A native of Ashley County and a Hamburg resident for most of his life, he had lived in Oneonta, AL, for the past year. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he retired from the U. S. Army and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ora Judkins Williamson. Survivors are two daughters, Sandra Yates of Oneonta, AL, and Rebecca Overstreet of Columbus, GA: a brother, Don Williamson of Pine Bluff; three sisters, Ephie Savage and Mary Rosen of Hamburg and Judy Etheridge of Malvern; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, at Jones Funeral Home in Hamburg. Services with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 2, in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Charles Pullin officiating. Burial will follow services at the Mount Olive Cemetery.
