Obituary- Myrtle "Myrt" Wisner Stone, 83, of Hamburg died Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. A native of Eddy, Texas, and a former resident of Corpus Christi, TX, she had lived in Hamburg since 1974. She was a retired telegraph agent, working for Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific railroads for 30 years. An active member of the First Baptist Church of Hamburg and the Ashley County Medical Center Auxiliary, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bruce Wisner in 1973 and James Stone in 1998; her parents, John and Beulah Griffis Lovelace; and two sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Stone Shiver and husband Harry of Hamburg and Carol Stone Carpenter and husband Rev. Bill Carpenter of Eudora; a son, Ben Wisner of Cabot; two brothers, Rev. J. B. Lovelace and wife Marcy of Wilson, OK, and Ray Lovelace and wife Joann of Springtown, TX; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, November 15, in the First Baptist Church of Hamburg with Dr. Bobby Pennington and Rev. Klois Hargis officiating. Pallbearers were Calvin Dorton, Hurshel and Marion Kelley, Bobby Ferguson, Keith Ladd and Bill Bailey. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ruth Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and Dr. J. D. Rankin. Burial followed services at the Mount Olive Cemetery with arrangements by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
