Virginia Broderick Murphy

Virginia Lee Addison Broderick Murphy, daughter of the late George Paul Addison and Dorothy Benton Addison, was born July 30, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She departed this life May 8, 2013 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 8 days. She was united in marriage to Adelbert Earl Broderick on October 21, 1946 until his death on November 5, 1973. On June 26, 1976 she wed William D. Murphy until his death on February 25, 1997. She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home.

She is survived by five sons: Randy C. Broderick and wife Sue of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert Broderick and wife Kim of Jacksonville, Florida, Paul Broderick of Charleston, South Carolina, James Broderick and wife Becky of Charleston, South Carolina, and John Broderick of Iuka, Arkansas; two daughters: Laura Lamb of Lafayette, Louisiana and Marie Fears of Mountain Home: one stepdaughter: Cindy Windham of Maryland; one sister: Juanita Mount of Indianapolis, Indiana; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a host of other relatives of Indiana and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one daughter: Diana Smith; one sister: Betty Cloud and one brother: Benton Downing.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Mountain Home. Burial will be at Moody Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
