BELLA VISTA — Norris Lindberg Ogard, 91, of Bella Vista died May 3, 2006, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. He was born Jan. 25, 1913, in Conrad, Mont., to Melvin C. and Clarissa Lindberg Ogard. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. After the war, he returned to the University of Minnesota, where he earned a civil engineering degree in 1947. He built oil refineries for Foster Wheeler Corp., at locations throughout Canada and South America. He married Sofia Ybarnegaray Lemaitre, in 1949, and they moved to Minneapolis where he was the Village of Golden Valley's first city engineer. He remained in the field of civil engineering serving as traffic engineer for
the city of Duluth, Minn., from 1963 until his retirement in 1979. He was a 33rd-degree Master Mason of the T.W. Hugo Lodge in Duluth and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was an outdoorsman. He moved to Bella Vista in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sofia Ogard of Bella Vista; three children, Norris, John and Karen; four grandchildren, Douglas, Jacob, Erik and Gregory.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church.
Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children's Library at St. Theodore's Episcopal Church.
