HOLLAND, Retta GARDNER - Mrs. Retta Holland, wife of E.M. Holland of Healing Springs, died July 9, 1929 at the home of her father, J.J. Gardner, at the age of 52 years. Funeral services were held the following day conducted by a girl-hood playmate, Rev. Charles Sherman of Fort Smith. Burial was made in the Thornberry cemetery. Mrs. Holland was born in Elm Springs April 7, 1877 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Gardner, early residents of that section. In 1897 she was married in Elm Springs to E.M. Holland. Practically her entire life had been spent in the Elm Springs and Healing Springs communities. Besides her husband and parents she is survived by one son, Lee Holland of the home.
