FAYETTEVILLE — Billie Gibson Marrs, 71, of Fayetteville died Aug. 13, 2006, at Fayetteville. She was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Ryker to William Harrison and Rosie Lee Williams Collins. She was a member of Zion Christian Union Church in Fayetteville, where she was church custodian for many years and was active in the Sunday school program and a member of the choir, and Women's Fellowship, where she was hospitality chairperson for several years. She wrote music and was a member of the Happy Hatters of the Red Hat Society in Fayetteville. She was employed by the Guardian Angel Daycare in Fayetteville.

Survivors include her husband, Clayton Marrs, to whom she was married July 9, 1994; one son, Robert Layne Gibson and wife Tracey Metzger of Fayetteville; two grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas Gibson of Fayetteville; three stepchildren, Dwayne Marrs and wlfe Brenda, Lisa Lynch and husband Larry and Kent Marrs, all of Huntsville; six stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; five brothers, Frank Collins of Fayetteville, Ben Collins of Huntsville, Dotson Collins of Farmington, Walker Collins of Fayetteville and Floyd Collins of Springdale; six sisters, Cleo Thurston of Farmington, Susie Atchley of Fayetteville, Sarah Petersen of Entiat, Wash., Ethel Taylor of Elkins, Virginia Schaefer of Lincoln and Melba Collins of Fayetteville.

Services will he at 10 a.m. Thursday at Zion Christian Union Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. Steve Schaefer, the Rev. David Schaefer and the Rev. Limon Carney officiating.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Christian Union Youth Camp, c/o Melba Collins, 14898 Zion Drive, Fayetteville, 72704.

Pallbearers will be Jimmie Steele, Bobby Steele, Dwayne Marrs, Donnie Schaefer, Floyd Collins and Clayton Marrs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Thurston, Glen Atchley, Conard Petersen, Troy Taylor, Bill Schaefer, Frank Collins, Ben Collins, Dotson Collins and Walker Collins.
