MAXFIELD, Hannah Medaline BURGESS Gibson - Mrs. Edd Maxfield, more familiarly known as "Aunt Med," died at the family residence in Cave Springs on Saturday morning, August 15th, 1925 after an illness of only two days. However, she had been in failing health for the past year or more. Aunt Med, whose maiden name was Hannah Medaline Burgess, was born in Tennessee in 1837. In 1853 she was married to James Gibson, who died during the Civil War. To this union was born three girls and one boy. After the Civil War she was married to Edd Maxfield, who survives her. Her son, Wilse Gibson of Tulsa, Okla. and his two sons, Gus and Carl, and her granddaughter, Mrs. May Roark of Healing Springs, were with her during her illness and at the time of her death. Besides her husband, son and the grandchildren mentioned Aunt Med leaves eighteen grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and seven nieces to mourn her loss. Aunt Med professed faith in Christ when she was fifteen years old and has since lived a devoted Christian life. Funeral services were conducted at the residence and cemetery on Sunday afternoon by Brother Brogan of Healing Springs. Burial was made in the Thornsberry cemetery. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community in their sorrow.

[from Vaughn) Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Smith, Mrs. Sarah Parker, mother of Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Ola Crittenden attended the funeral services at Thornsberry Camp Ground Sunday afternoon of Mrs. Edd Maxfield, an aunt of Mrs. Parker.
