Peggy Culbertson Carter, 77, of Star City, died Thursday at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born June 22, 1932 in Ashley County to the late Clyde and Eugeneia Mosley Culbertson.

She was a teacher for the gifted and talented program, and had taught at Woodlawn, Kingsland, Lafayette, LA, Gould and Hermitage School Districts. She was a Methodist. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, Star City Book Club and the Eastern Star.

Also preceding her in death was a son, Joe Pat Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Carter of Star City; son, Michael Carter and wife Kristine of Little Rock; sister, Betty Jo Davis of Star City; 3 grandchildren, Christy Hendrix, Carrie Lamb, Sean Cart; 4 great grandchildren, Noah Mellick, Julia Mellick, Cara Kooms and Tate Lamb.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Bro. Bryan Diffee will officiate. Burial will be in Butler/Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until funeral time Monday at the funeral home

She has three grandchildren: Christy Hendrix, Carrie Ramos and Sean Carter. She has four great grandchildren: Julia Mellick, Noah Mellick, Cara Ferrell and Tatum Fulmer. She also now has two great-great grandchildren: Carter Ferrell and Dante Fulmer.
