Juanita Travis Buerkle Henderson "MeMe", 88, departed this life on Monday, April 11, 2011. She was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas, on November 30, 1922, to the late Bill and Vena Travis.

She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Edward Paul (Eddie) Buerkle of Stuttgart and Basel Henderson of Coy; brothers: Elmer, Bill, Hal and B.J. Travis; sisters: Geneva Scherm, Mildred Gillette and Ruth Ballard. Survivors include her daughter, Joy Buerkle Rush (Ken) of Stuttgart; sons, Edward Paul "Burk" Buerkle (Sharon) of Maumelle and J. Travis Buerkle of England with whom she lived; daughter, Shirley C. Morgan (Jack) of England and son, Emmitt Henderson (Kay) of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Rebecca Buerkle and Adam Buerkle of Little Rock and Tyler Richmond (Nikki) of North Little Rock, Chris and Leah Foster and their children of Little Rock, Brooke Foster of Maumelle, Mandy, Emily, and Beau Henderson, all of Cabot; her sisters-in-law, Hazel Travis ("my special sister") of England and Dottie Travis of Dallas, Texas, Mabel Henderson and Sissy Henderson, both of England; nephews and nieces, Eugene Scherm (Sandra), Dorothy Wilson (Tommy) and Teresa Barnett (Bill), all of Stuttgart, Billy Scherm of Hot Springs, Choo Choo Meinert (Richard) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Barbara Jones (Mike) of North Carolina, Brad Travis (Kristie) of Dallas, Texas, Bobbi Lynn Henderson (Darrell) and Ginger Adams, all of England, Susan McCollum Douglas (Kevin) of Little Rock and Ann Laine (Charlie) and Linda Laine of Ashville, North Carolina.

Throughout her life, Juanita lived by her deep love and belief in the Lord. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of England. Juanita's most cherished moments were spent with family and friends. She was always the life of the party with her wonderful sense of humor -- to know her was to love her, she will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Juanita's life will be Saturday, April 16, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church, 200 NE 2nd St., England 72046. Visitation will be in the church's fellowship hall beginning at 10 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church of England or the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223.
