Mary Helen Barnett
Mary Helen Barnett, age 78, of St. Joe, Arkansas passed from this life on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at her home. She was born in Leslie, Arkansas on March 12, 1933 to Claude Goodman and Mary Magdalene (Reed) Goodman.
Mary Helen attended St. Joe Baptist Church but loved to visit other churches and you would often see her in services all over the community. Mary Helen was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service for over 30 years. She loved spending time outdoors. Her children and their families were the center of her world.
Her parents, one sister, Janie Kinslow and one brother, Leroy Goodman precedes Mary Helen in death.
Survivors include her husband of sixty years, Kenneth Haskel Barnett of the home; two sons, Darrell James Barnett and wife Judy of Harrison and Kenneth Mitchell Daniel Barnett and wife Renee of St. Joe; one daughter, Carolyn Marie Barnett Cox and husband Larry W. of Calico Rock; seven grandchildren, Randy Childers and wife Lesa, Wendy Woods, Toby Barnett and wife Shuna, Mary R. Barnett, Matt Kimbrell, Laura Redmon and husband Rob and Daniel Harris and wife Bambi; eight great-grandchildren, Elinor Ruth Childers, Corbin Hickerson, Dalton Barnett, Zoia Barnett, Addison Barnett, Ashlyn Horton, Alexa Horton and Trace Redmon; two sisters, Claudia Hastings of Eugene, OR and Sarah Elizabeth Younger of St. Joe; two brothers, Claude Goodman Jr. of Harrison and Russell Goodman of St. Joe; and many nieces and nephews who will also mourn her passing.
Services for Mary Helen will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Buffalo River Baptist Church in St. Joe with Bro. Joey Reed officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Stone Cemetery in St. Joe.
Pallbearers will be Toby Barnett, Randy Childers, James Kinslow, Jay Roy Kinslow, Steve Younger and Roger Goodman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Claude Goodman Jr. and Russell Goodman.
