Thurmon Stark, 88, of Greers Ferry, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at a health care facility in Chattanooga, TN.
He was born August 26, 1922, in Greers Ferry, AR, and was a retired display carpenter at Whirlpool Corporation. Mr. Stark was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Wilda Jean (Foust); his daughter Judy Hendrix, brothers Domer, Omer and Uless and his parents Grover and Barbara Stark.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Wayne and Carol Kennedy of Rossville, GA and Todd and Kristy Regnitz of Ringgold, GA; grandchildren, Cameron Wilkins of McDonald, TN, Adam Wilkins of McDonald, TN, Daniel Regnitz of Chattanooga, TN, and Elizabeth Regnitz of Ringgold, GA; one great-grandchild Jessika Warnnock of Lima, OH.
Mr. Stark was a veteran of WWII (Rhineland and Ardennes). He served his country from 12/14/42 to 8/21/47.
Mr. Stark was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
A special “thank you” is extended to the staff at Life Care of East Ridge, TN for their care during his illness.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 18th, at West Side Baptist Church with Pastor Van Harness officiating. Burial will follow in Crossroads Cemetery.
