Obituary - Mrs. Rea Johnson, 88, of Parkdale, died Sunday, December 2, 2001, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Hamburg. A native of Atkins and a resident of Parkdale since 1929, she was a homemaker and the oldest living member of the Parkdale Baptist Church where she was a member for over 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Johnson, in 1985; a son, Frank Johnson, in 1995; her parents, Arthur & Ethel Holloway Myers; three sisters, Syble Lloyd, Ruth Harrison and Reba Hall and five brothers, A.R. " Poss," Tom, L.D., James & Hubert Myers.
She is survived by a son, Carlos Johnson; a daughter, Peggy Skender both of Crossett; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, at the funeral home. Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, in the Parkdale Baptist Church with Rev. Harry Noble officiating. Pallbearers are to be James Spurlock, L.D. Myers, Dale Myers, David Johnson, Rickey Brantley & Gary Skender.
Interment will be in the Parkdale Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Memorials may be made to the Parkdale Baptist Church, PO Box 6, Parkdale, AR 71661
