Frankie - March 25, 1890 - June 23, 1978
W. A. McCroskey, aged 67, died at his home in Reader at 4 p.m. Monday. He had been ill for some time. He worked for the Reader railroad for a number of years and he was a Mason. Known as "Mac" he was also a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. McCroskey is survived by his wife, a daughter Mrs. Clarence Woosley of Malvern; five sons, Otto of El Dorado; Morris of Hot Springs; Arthur Ray of Reader; Burlin of Camden, Vernon of Hot Springs; four brothers, George of Little Rock; Luther of Fort Smith; Emzey of Henrietta, Okla; Minor of Tulsa, and Raymond of California; one sister Mrs. Mae Johnson of Richmond, Calif., and seven grandchildren. Funeral service will be at Union Church in Reader with Proctor funeral home in charge. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the church with Dr. David Moore and Rev. Russell Sims, of Arkadelphia, officiating. Burial will be at Bluff City. Pallbearers will be Homer Wells, Jessie Peterson, Ray Oliver, Wilburn Adams, James Benton, Archie Benton, W. A. Adams and Carl Tunnell. The body was taken to the home in Reader at 3 p.m. today and will remain there until funeral time. (Camden News - December 13, 1955)
