Mrs. Lucille Norande Walker, 63, of Route 2, Mt. Home, wife of Clarence (Red) Walker died Friday in a local hospital. She was a retired nurse and a resident of the Shady Grove community, south of Mt. Home.
Last rites were held at 2PM Tuesday at the McClure Chapel with Rev. and Mrs. Lee Anderson of Judsonia, formerly of Mt. Home, officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery at Buford with the McClure Service in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Walker, a native of Arkansas, was born at Pine Bluff on Oct 8, 1901. Here parents were the late William Wallace Greenwood and Hampie Lucille Bishop Greenwood. She had resided in Baxter County for the past 21 years, and was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church of Buford. She was active in civic and political affairs of the county.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Clarence Walker of the home; a brother, Roy R. Greenwood of Detroit, MI; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Hurst of Gassville and Mrs. Claude Wright of Memphis, TN; 11 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Louis Knight, Kenneth Jackson, Truman, Smith, Roy Haney, Bill Buchanan and Alfred Peace. Honorary pallbearers were Rex Bodenhamer, Hugh Hackler, Jimmie Baker, Ed Pinkston, Emmett Edmonds and Fred Brunson.

(Even though the double gravestone designated the proposed burial space for Clarence "Red" Walker, when he died May 25, 1978, he was buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Marion County, Arkansas.)
