Garland Lankford, 62, Rt. 1, Farmington, died Aug. 23 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Feb. 22, 1916, at Robinson, he was the son of William P. and Sarah Elizabeth Calhoun Lankford, a member of the Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II and a retired automobile mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Pense Lankford of the home; three brothers, Harold Lankford of Newcastle, Calif., J.D. Lankford of Siloam Springs and Vernon Lankford of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Lela Couch of Fayetteville and Mrs. Ethel Duncan of Pryor, Okla.; two half brothers, Sonny Lankford of Fayetteville and L.C. Lankford of Seattle, Wash.; two half sisters, Mrs. Joan Pense of West Fork and Marie Lankford of Missouri.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Johnnie Sloate officiating. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery near Prairie Grove.
Pallbearers will be Russell Layne, Grant Layne, Steve Bone, Gene King, Max Mundy and Loy Bailey.

FARIMINGTON — Pearl Zonia Lankford, 92, a resident of Farmington, passed away Jan. 29, 2013, in Prairie Grove. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Winfrey Valley, the daughter of John and Nancy Hillard Pense.
Pearl was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garland Lankford; seven brothers and sisters, Dewey, Ruie, Dillard, Willard, Millard, Leona and Ott.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery in Viney Grove; there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.
