POCAHONTAS -- Lexie Charles Prewitt, 89, of Pocahontas died Friday, Sept. 27, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center. Born in Hardy, he was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Taylor Prewitt of Pocahontas; two sons, Charles Prewitt Jr. of Pocahontas and Jerry Prewitt of Maumelle; two daughters, Brenda Johnson of Searcy and Tara Prewitt of Pocahontas; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Lula Francis Prewitt.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home, with Terry Martin and Mitch Walton officiating.

Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery at Pocahontas with military honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Elsie Marie Prewitt of Pocahontas, AR passed away on July 25, 2020 at Randolph Home.

She was born March 14, 1922 to William Taylor and Fay English of Ravenden Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lexie Prewitt, sons Charles and Jerry Prewitt, two brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two daughters Brenda (Larry) McDaniel and Tara Prewitt, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grand-children, and 7 great great grand-children.

Pallbearers are John Constant, Will Constant, Aaron Fisher, Gary Alphin, Randy Alphin, and Jeffery Taylor. Honorary Pallbearer Danny Ray Taylor.

Visitation will be at McNabb Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 1-2 p.m. in the chapel with funeral at 2 with Mitch Walton officiating. Burial to follow at Masonic Cemetery.

To follow the directives of Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, masks covering the mouth and nose are required for all persons in Arkansas for all indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to non-household members where social distancing cannot be assured. Those attending will also be asked to sign a contact registry and maintain a social distance.
