Obituary- Mrs. Cluma Ballinger, 91, of Parkdale died Friday, January 15, 1999, in the Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. A native of Hector, she was a homemaker, a member of the Assembly of God and had lived in Parkdale since 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rell Ballinger, in 1981; a daughter, Cluma Othello Ballinger, in 1940; a grandson, Robert Ballinger, in 1990; and her parents, Jim and Cindy Vaughn Curtis. Survivors are two sons, Lom Ballinger of Benton and Lavoin Ballinger of Houston, TX; a daughter, Opal Fisher of Eudora; a brother, Marvin Curtis of Russellville; three sisters, Novella Underhill of Russellville, Vea Whittington of Porterville, CA, and Bernice Cox of Modesto, CA; four grandchildren, Dr. D. A. Fisher of Mablevale, Randy Ballinger and Rhonda Reese of Houston, and Bryan Ballinger of Centerville, TN, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 17, in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg with Rev. Bobby Hatfield officiating. Pallbearers were Bryan and Randy Ballinger, Larry Armstrong, Billy Reese, Geard Armstrong and Roy Burns. Burial followed services at the Snyder Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Snyder Cemetery Association, c/o Mrs. Jane Graves, 244 Ashley Road 70, Hamburg, AR 71646.
