MELBOURNE - Earnest Don Tomlinson, 75, of Zion, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at a nursing home in Melbourne.
Born July 24, 1925, at Zion, he was the son of George and Gertie Fudge Tomlinson. He was a retired postmaster for 31 years. He was in the Navy and served in World War II. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church since 1939 and served as deacon since 1965.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Norma Jean Wilson Tomlinson; a son, Randy Wilson Tomlinson; a sister, Tommie Lou Williams; and two grandchildren, Todd Nathaniel Tomlinson of Zion, Gena Mechelle Curry of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church with Gene Beard and Gary Wallace officiating. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery at Zion with arrangements by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Pallbearers are Don Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Raybourne Finley, James Smith, Chris Bigness and William Harrington.
Honorary pallbearers are Bob Haley, Bill Williams, Jodie Bigness, John Maxwell, J.W. Moser and Wilton Thompkins.
