GARFIELD — Ray W "Red" Wilkerson, 83, of Garfield died Dec. 8, 1999, at Beverly Healthcare in Rogers.

He was born July 14, 1916, in Brightwater to C.W. and Bette Ross Wilkerson.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe, a cattle rancher and a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of the Brightwater Methodist Church and served as trustee and head usher for several years. He enjoyed golf. He was preceded in death by his wife, "Joe" Wilkerson, to whom he was married in 1947.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Wilkerson Jr. and Erick Wilkerson, both of Garfield; two daughters, Lea Jean Whitehead of Bella Vista and Sharon Wilkerson of Westville, Okla.; two brothers, Tom Wilkerson of Rogers and Guy Wilkerson of Bentonville; three sisters. Mary Jean Creech and Betsy Spicer, both of Rogers, and Edna Keyes of Fresno, Calif.; one grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.

Burial will be in Buttrums Chapel Cemetery at Pea Ridge. Military honors by Bella Vista VFW Post 9063.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Brightwater Methodist Church, Rt. 3, Box 455, Rogers 72756.
