FORT GIBSON, Okla. — Dorothy Jo Turton Lawson, 59, of Fort Gibson died March 23, 2004, at St. John Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. She was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Springfield, Mo., to Frank and Helen Eason Turton. She lived in the Muskogee, Okla., area for 30 years and was a former resident of Siloam Springs. She was a 1962 graduate of Siloam Springs High School and was retired from Brockway-Owens-Illinois in Muskogee. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, crafts and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, John; three sons, Chris Turton, Jeremy Lawson and Harley Turton Lawson, all of the home; one daughter, Xavier Turton Lawson of the home; her mother, Helen Coburn of Newton, Kan.; four sisters, JoAnn Hoeper of Tekameh, Neb., Suzy Ferguson of Siloam Springs, Cecelia Thompson of Fayeteville and Mary Turton of New Orleans.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
