Darlene "Arkie" Dillon, age 72, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Springhill Baptist Medical Center in North Little Rock. Born at Higden, Arkansas, on May 13, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Estel Nelson and Ima Hazel Cullum Nelson.

Mrs. Dillon was blessed with having two beautiful granddaughters who were a huge part of her life.

She loved to not only watch NASCAR racing but also went to many NASCAR races. She was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

She was married for 52 years to her loving husband.

Not only was she a loving wife, mother, and grandmother but a loving sister and aunt and friend who will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Nelson, and one sister, Leon Bradford.

Mrs. Dillon is survived by her husband, Delan L. Dillon of Sherwood; one son, Danny Lewis Dillon and his wife, Katheryn, of Sherwood; one daughter, Kimberly Darlene Steele and her husband, Jason, of Sherwood; one brother, Darrell Nelson of Higden; five sisters, Emelee Bellar, Dorothy Yeager, and Minda Reynolds, all of North Little Rock; Delone Robertson of Hensley, and Devone Sneed of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren, Taylor Ann Dillon and Jenna Darlene Steele. Mrs. Dillon is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
