Siloam Springs - The Rev. Edward William Hufford, 43, of Siloam Springs died today in the Siloam Springs Hospital. He was born Sept. 26, 1924 in Gardenia, Ill. and was pastor of the Free Methodist Church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Elsie Hufford of the home; three sons, Gerald Lee, Edward Ray and Allan Dale; one daughter Mrs. Mary Turner; his mother, Mrs. Edna Hufford; two sisters, Mrs. Opel Pelz and Mrs. Lela DeVore all of Siloam Springs; three brothers, John of Centralia, Ill., Louie of Siloam Springs and Earl of Ozark and three grandchildren.

Arrangements will be announced by the Pyeatte Funeral Service.

SILOAM SPRINGS — Elsie Mae Schmidt, 83, of Siloam Springs died May 24, 2006, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab. She was born Jan. 1, 1923, in LaRue County, Ky., to Omer and Mary Lize Warren Fisher. She was preceded in death by husbands, the Rev. Edward William Hufford, and Clifford Xavier Schmidt and one son, Allen Dale Hufford. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Siloam Springs and the Women's Missionary International. She worked for Jepson's Drug Store for seven years, was a cook at the Siloam Springs High School cafeteria and worked the election polls in Siloam Springs for more than 20 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary N. Turner and husband Donnis of Siloam Springs; two sons, Gerald L. Hufford and wife Barbara of Springdale and Edward R. Hufford of Siloam Springs; one brother, Omer Lee Fisher of Washington, Ill.; one sister, Eileen Caho of Mackinaw, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene in Siloam Springs with the Rev. Warren Forworthy officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Siloam Springs.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
