RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. - Evelyn O. Chandler, 85, died at 12:15 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at the NHC Healthcare Facility, Springfield, Tenn., of natural causes.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, Russellville, with Dr. Glen Sullivan and the Rev. Buddy Crabtree officiating. The body will be cremated. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Latham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
A native of Judsonia, Ark., she was born April 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Shelby Lenox and Stella Beatrice Henderson Hicks.
She was the owner of Mary-Lyn Children's Shop from 1972 to 1986.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Russellville, and a volunteer missionary with the International Mission Board and the Home Mission Board. She was a past member of the State Board of Women's Missionary Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Adrin Jerry Chandler, in 1971.
Survivors include her daughter, Carole Chandler, Russellville, and her sister, Freda Holder, Little Rock, Ark.
