Oveil Taylor Creek, 87

Oveil "Oeva" Taylor Creek, of Mountain Home, formerly of Viola, daughter of the late David Homer Knight and Daisey Holstine Knight, was born June 6, 1925 in Viola, AR. She died August 3, 2012 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, AR at the age of 87 years 1 month and 28 days.

She was united in marriage to Roger Creek May 25, 1991. She was a great mother and wife and she loved to piece quilts. She was a member of the Norfork Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of the family home; her daughter, Jackie Gooch and husband Olan of Viola; sister, Norma Foster of Shawnee, KS; seven step children, Glenda Kietzmann and husband Dave of Danville, IL, Deann Gaterman and husband Mike of Danville, IL, Cheryl Priesop and husband Ted of Mountain Home, Tina Church and husband Paul of Winston-Salem, NC, Diana Still and husband Jeff of Harriett, AR, Janice Randall and husband Tony of Flora, IL, and David Creek and wife Sherry of Whitesville, IN; fifteen step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; a special brother-in-law Joe Creek and wife Marsha of Casey, IL; sister-in-law Eva Dickerson of Buford, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband Verlin Taylor; three brothers, Desmon, Bill and Roy Lee Knight; two sisters, Eddie Knight and Mary Sanders Martin.

Services are Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at 2 pm at Viola Baptist Church with burial to follow in Viola Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem. Visitation is Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at Cox-Blevins Chapel. Pallbearers are Elvin Wray, Chris Newberry, Ronald Brandon, Matt Hart, John Morgeson and Bobby Sanders. Honorary Pallbeares, Viola Fire Department.

[Note: At the time of her death, her surname had been Creek for 21 years; however, she was buried beside the grave of her first husband and father of her daughter. As such, she shares a double gravestone with her first husband and is shown under the name Taylor.]
