SPRINGDALE — Earl Eugene Wise, 85, of Springdale joined the saints of glory on Saturday, April 27, 2002. He was born in Gravette, Ark., to George Robert Wise and Rosa Carden Wise on Jan. 4, 1917. He attended Centerton High School and married Floreine Rakes on June 25, 1938, in Gentry, Ark. He had a career in the poultry industry and was currently employed part time by F&H Food Equipment Co. in Springdale. Earl was a member of the Arkansas Poultry Federation and enjoyed fishing, but his true passion was gardening. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas and was active in his Community Group, led by Travis Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Floreine, of the home; a daughter, Earline Wise Steyer, and her husband, Garland, of Cheswick, Pa.; three sisters, Lucile Jones of Rogers, Lela Wells of Owasso, Okla., Louise Jones of Chandler, Ariz.; two grandsons, Todd Eugene Steyer of Huntington Beach, Calif., Terrence Earl Steyer and his wife, Kelly, of Charleston, S.C., and one great-grandson, Noah Callahan Steyer of Charleston, S.C. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Wise in 1965.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Apri1 30, 2002, at Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas, with Pastor Gary Harrell, Pastor John Marquette and Dr. Charles Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane McConnell, Stan Slater, Bobby Pickett, Michael Ruston, Doug Kory and Jeff Ast. Honorary pallbearers will be George Birk, Jack Bardwell, Joe Simms, Bo Hardy and Jack Shrader.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Fellowship Bible Church. Memorials may be made in honor of Earl Wise to the NOW Campaign c/o Fellowship Bible Church of Northwest Arkansas, 208 E. Pleasant Grove Rd, Lowell, Ar 72745.
Arrangements are by Stockdale Funeral Service of Rogers.
