Jack Henry Atkins, 71, of Siloam Springs died Thursday at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1905 in Siloam Springs.
He was a retired employe of the Rock Island Railroad, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, the Scottish and York Rite and was an active advisor in DeMolay and Rainbow chapters, He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Siloam Springs.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel C. Atkins of the home; a son, Jack H Atkins, Jr., of Greve Coeur, Ill,; a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Sommer of Harrington Park, N.J.; a brother, Bert Atkins of Springfield, Mo.; a half brother, Tom Atkins of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Miller of Springdale and Mrs. Mary Sawyer of Swamton, Ohio and a half sister, Mrs. Pearl Poerter of Odessa, Tex.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 in the Wasson Funeral Chapel in Siloam Springs with Herman Paden officiating. Graveside Masonic rites and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
