Funeral February 10

Funeral services were held Feb. 10 with Rev. Hugh Cooper of Melbourne and Rev. Alvin Wiles of Viola officiating for Lonnie Eber McElmurry, son of the late Alfred and Betty Nichols McElmurry. He was born near Viola, Ark. Mar 22, 1897. He died in West Plains, Mo. Hospital February 8 at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 16 days.

He was married to Doshie Cantrell at Moody, Mo. Feb 11, 1916 and to this union three children were born. His companion and one son preceded him in death.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Carl Wallace of Salem and Mrs. Ben Smith of Flint, Mich. Three sisters Mrs. Myrtle Simmons, and Mrs. Gertie Green both of Moody, Mo. and Mrs. Tressie Walker of Little Rock, Ark. four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. McElmurry had been a member of the Baptist Church since he was a young man.

Burial was in the Viola Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Service of Salem.

Pallbearers were Jim Felts, Dick Felts, Huber Peterson, Floyd McCandlis, Horace Watson and Everett Cantrell.
