FARMINGTON — Dr. Anne Riley Vizzier, 88, of Farmington, passed away Jan. 2, 2011, at her home. She was born July 10, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, to the late H. Lawrence Riley and Daisy O'Brien Riley, and raised in New Orleans.
She served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946.
She later retired from the University of Arkansas where she taught history. She was awarded the 1964 Alumni Teaching Award and was also a recipient of a Fuibright Scholarship to Belgium.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Henry Jr. and Michael Riley; and one sister, Mary Riley
She is survived by her husband, James Vizzier, of the home; and one daughter, Carol Vizzier of St Louis.
A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the M&N Augustine Foundation, P.O. Box 4008, Fayetteville, AR 72702.
