Wanda Burnett, age 85, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006, in Little Rock. She was born in Shirley, Arkansas, on April 10, 1921. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved people. Everyone who visited her home was made to feel welcome. She was a beautiful woman, admired by all. She was very active and loved storytelling, music, and laughter.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Burnett, her parents, James R. and Mary Ellen Towery, four sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by her five sons, Ken (Toby), Bo (Debbie), Phil (Liz), Larry (Jenny), David (Diane), nine grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way, her brother, Jim Towery, of Victorville, California, and her dear friend and dancing partner, Charles Wallace. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 2, 2006, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300. There will be a Graveside Service at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 3, 2006 at Eglantine Cemetery, Shirley, Arkansas.
