Ruth (Sherwood) Blaylock Landon, 90, longtime resident of Fairfield Bay, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Indian Rock Village. She was born February 13, 1920, in Liberal, Kansas, a daughter of the late George and Maude Sherwood.
She was a 1937 graduate of Little Rock High School, and spent much of her adult life in Little Rock. In 1974, she and her husband Don moved to Fairfield Bay where he became the first golf professional at Indian Hills Golf Club. Ruth was a member of the V.F.W. ladies auxiliary and the Indian Rock Village auxiliary. She was a member of Fairfield Bay Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Secretary for many years.
Ruth is preceded in death by husbands, Don Blaylock and Russell Landon; a son, Tom Blaylock; her twin sister, Ruby Lee; sisters, Vivian Davis and Dorothy Freasier.
She is survived by her son, Don Blaylock; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A private graveside service will be held at Eglantine Cemetery, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Clinton.
The family requests memorials be made to either Arkansas Hospice or the Indian Rock Village Auxiliary.
