Keith (K. J.) Bradford, Jr., age 85, of Shirley, Arkansas, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008, at the Ozark Health Medical Center in Clinton. Born at Eglantine, Arkansas, on March 21, 1923, he was the son of the late Keith N. and Lucy Myrtle (Bolden) Bradford.

Mr. Bradford was a longtime resident of Van Buren County, having lived in Shirley and Eglantine. He was a retired steel worker for Granite City Steel in Granite City, Illinois, where he lived for 30 years. Mr. Bradford was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Eglantine Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vera Maxine Bradford; his parents; and one sister, Juanita Towery.

Mr. Bradford is survived by his wife, Jean (Harper) Bradford of Shirley; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Gaile and Dr. John Carey of Flippin; four sons and daughters-in-law, Danny G. and Sharon Kay Brown, Sammy B. and Brenda Brown, Buddy and Helena Brown, and Bill and Jan Brown; one brother-in-law, Willie Bradford; one sister-in-law, Sally Beavers; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mr. Bradford is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Olmstead Woodland Chapel at Edgemont. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, at 2:00 p.m. in the Eglantine Church of Christ with Dr. John Carey, Danny Brown, and Sammy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Eglantine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Brown, Lance Brown, Keith Brown, Graham Carey, Joel Carey, and Brian Garrett. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Brown, Leman Bradford, J. C. Bradford, John A. Bradford, and Ray Dowdy.
