Betty Sue Litaker, 78, of St. Joseph, Michigan, formerly of Wilburn, Arkansas passed away at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka, IN on March 17, 2011.

Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Heber Springs Funeral Home, 1199 Wilburn Road. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Magness Cemetery.

Betty was born December 1, 1932 in Wilburn, AR, the daughter of the late Robert and Mable (Snelling) Johnson. On December 17, 1952, she married Oather Litaker in Baroda, MI and they shared these past 58 years together.

Betty was a wife and mother who enjoyed caring for her family. Her favorite personal pastimes were reading and playing the penny slots. Her grandchildren could never visit without finding a plate of her famous chocolate chip cookies or homemade fudge. She especially enjoyed making cocoa for Shane.

Survivors include her husband, Oather; children, Angela (Joe) King of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Karen Litaker of St. Joseph, MI; grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Kevin King, Joseph Williams, Shane Litaker; great granddaughter, Cecilia King; brothers, David (Donna) Johnson of Heber Springs and Curtis Johnson of Wilburn.

Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Litaker of St. Joseph, MI and Heber Springs and Laura Latch of Heber Springs; five brothers, Robert Charles of Wilburn, Wilber Dale of Muncie, IN, Norman Dean of Heber Springs, Ivan Carl of Tumbling Shoals and Harley Glen of Heber Springs.
