Modean Crider, age 79, of Quitman, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the Seven Springs Nursing Center in Heber Springs. Born in Pearson, on January 12, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Wickliff and Sallie (Clayton) Houston.
Mrs. Crider was a stay at home mom until her children were grown. She was a dietary worker at Lakeland Lodge for several years and also did housework for others. Mrs. Crider's hobbies included gardening, cooking, and sewing, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Crider.
Mrs. Crider is survived by her husband, Leslie Richard Crider Sr.; one son, Leslie Crider Jr.; two daughters, Donna Potts and her husband, Frank, all of Quitman, and Sharon Nordquist of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Martha Fox of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren, Christopher Crider, Sean Nordquist, and Kelly Potts. Mrs. Crider is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.
Graveside services and interment was held May at the Center Point Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Vaughn officiating.
