W.P. Peach, son of John and Mary Peach, was born February 26, 1848 in Redbud, Randolph county, Illinois and died at his home southwest of Rogers at the age of 78 years, two months and thirteen days. He moved to Lebanon, Hl. with his parents at the age of sixteen. At the age of 18 he embraced the Christian faith and united with the Baptist church at Oak Hill, Ill. and remained a member of that church and was Sunday School superintendent of the first Baptist church at Lebanon, Ill. for about ten years. In 1872 he was united in marriage to Annie E. Williams. To this union four children were born and all survive him and were at his bedside at the end. The children are Mrs. H.E. Davies of Pueblo, Colo.; Miss Ethel Peach of Rogers; Rolla Peach of Rogers and Mrs. Otto Koppe of Laramie, Wyoming. There five grandchildren - Charles and Merle Davies of Pueblo; and Ruby, Lembourne and Annie Peach of Rogers. He was the last member of a family of nine children, three brothers and five sisters, who all lived and died in Illinois. He moved to Rogers in the year 1882 when the town was but a year old and bought virgin land, having to cut out the timber to build his house and buildings and had made this farm his home until the end.
