BALDWIN — Vol Salsbury, 83, of Baldwin died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Washington County the son of Ed and Roxie Franklin Salsbury.

He was the owner and operator of several businesses and an investor.

He was a member of Round Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. He served as Sunday school teacher. One of his favorite memories was pheasant hunting in Nebraska with his brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers; and five sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Edna Burnett Salsbury of the home; two sons, Gerald Salsbury and wife, Kathy, of Fort Smith and Bryce Salsbury of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Whitney Salsbury and Suzanne Salsbury both of Fort Smith; sister, Maxine Tando of Farmington; brother, Robert Salsbury of Farmington, and several other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, Feb. 27, 2012, at Beard's Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Phil Misenheimer officiating. Burial will be at Round Mountain Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Beards Chapel.
