Ward B. Salsbury, 78, of Elkins died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at his home. He was born June 9, 1927, in Washington County to Ed and Roxie Franklin Salsbury.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a farmer and retired from Lewis Brothers Furniture. He was a member of the Round Mountain Baptist Church, where he had taught Sunday school.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

He was a loving husband, dad, brother, uncle, papa and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Keeney Salsbury of the home; one son, Douglas Salsbury of Prairie Grove; one daughter, Carolyn Miller of Fayetteville; two brothers, Robert Salsbury of Farmington and Vol Salsbury of Baldwin; one sister, Maxine Tando of the Round Mountain community: four grandchildren, Lisa Miller of Fayetteville, Mackenzie, Nicholas and Jess Salsbury, all of Prairie Grove.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville, online at mooresfuneralchapel.com. Pastor Luke George will officiate.

Burial will be in Round Mountain Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Moores Chapel.
