Monroe Oakley 84 of Romance, AR. went to be with the Lord, June 23, 2008. Monroe was born May 28, 1924 in El Paso, AR to the late Artie A. and Ida Pearl Oakley. He was a member of the Romance Church of Christ and the Floyd / Romance volunteer fire department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Vanna (Clay) Oakley
He is survived by his daughter, Linda J. Oakley of Romance; one sister, Velma "Polly" Norman of Little Rock. Also, many other family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 P.M., Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home in Searcy, AR.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Romance Church of Christ in Romance, AR.
Interment will follow in the Romance Community Cemetery.
