BETTY SCOTT, a resident of Green Forest, Arkansas, was born March 31, 1930 in Stockton, California, a daughter of William Forest and Alice P. (Pretzer) Carter. She departed this life Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Harrison, Arkansas, at the age of 85 years.

She is survived by one son, Larry Scott of San Bernardino, California; two daughters, Linda and husband Archie Rousey of Green Forest, Arkansas and Mary Johnson of Clinton, Arkansas; three brothers, Edward Carter of Dorchester, South Carolina, William F. Carter of Jacksonville, Florida and Jimmy Carter of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.

On January 7, 1950, Betty was united in marriage with Leo E. Scott who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, William Forest and Alice Carter; one daughter; and one grandson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Nelson’s Green Forest Chapel. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Dennard Cemetery in Dennard, Arkansas. Interment will follow the service in the Dennard Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
