Carol Lanell Loy Bookout, daughter of Coy Cornelius and Ernestine Sandefur Loy, was born May 16, 1946, in Batesville, Ark., She died May 18, 2007, at her home in Wiseman, Ark., at the age of 61.
She was a self-employed beautician and cosmetologist at Carol's Beauty Salon. She was united in marriage to William Dean Bookout on Aug. 31, 1973, in Rock Island, Ill. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her husband Dean of the home; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Devlin and Jennifer Bookout of Hoxie, Ark., Darrin Bookout of Wiseman, Darrick Wayne Bookout of Wiseman; one step-son; Dennis Bookout of Wiseman; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelleen and John Killough of Columbia, Tenn. her mother, Ernestine Loy of Stockbridge, Ga.; one brother, Trey Loy of Covington, Ga.; a sister, Wanda Dickinson of Stockbridge, Ga.; nine grandchildren, April Bookout Robertson, Dustin Bookout, Meghan Allen, Jordan McDaniel, Jesse Bookout, Collin Killough, Ashlyn Killough, Jaden Killough, and Hunter Bookout; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Coy Cornelius Loy.
Funeral services were held May 21 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial was at the Wiseman Cemetery with arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Alan Floyd, Chad Bookout, Brad Bookout, John Killough, Todd Loy and Bobby Bookout.
Honorary pallbearers were Grandville Todd and Donnie Bookout
