ROGERS — John Benjamin Pouncey, 88, of Rogers, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. John was born Sept. 14, 1922 in Calhoun, La., to the late George E. and Kathryn (Weems) Pouncey.
John was a career military man, giving 20 years of his life in service in the United States Air Force. He then spent 20 years working for Emerson Electric before retirement. In his free time, he loved learning, reading, gardening and his cat, Smokey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Eleanor G. Pouncey; two sons, Ronald and David Pouncey; two sisters, Hazel and Myrtle Pouncey; six brothers, Ernest, Charles, James, George, Alve and Jackie Pouncey.
Survivors include two sons, James and John Pouncey; three sisters, Bess Outz, Katie Cook and Mary Lee Spillers; and one brother, Lee Pouncey.
Services for John will be 9 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home Chapel in Rogers, with burial to follow in Rogers City Cemetery with full military honors.
