SPRINGDALE — Ethel Smyth Helms, 79, of Springdale died Dec. 11, 1999, in Springdale. She was born Oct. 17, 1920, in Summers to William Henry and Ora Hancock Smyth. She was a retired manager of a laundermat and a pianist for three churches. She also was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rita Drake and Jerry, Ann Jones and Willard and Celia Trammell, all of Springdale; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Pat Robinson and the Rev. J.W. Walker officiating. Burial will be In Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Drake, Jim Drake, Kendall Drake, Christopher Clark, Kevin Clark, Jeremy Drake, David Joyner and Charles Greenlee.
