GENE KAPPLER
Gene Kappler, 55, Rt. 1, Lowell died June 14 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. Born April 2, 1920 in Springdale, he was the son of Adolf and Emma Smith Kappler. He was a retired truck driver in the produce industry.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Leverett Kappler of the home; one son, Earl Kappler, Lowell; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Betty) Belote and Mrs. David (Jean) Bewley, Lowell, and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Reddish, Springdale; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Tina) Rogers and Mrs. Lovena Parsons, both of Springdale; six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday in Sisco Chapel at 2 p.m, with burial in Forest Park Cemetery.

Thelma Elizabeth Kappler
Thelma Elizabeth Kappler, 86, of Springdale died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006, at Springdale. She was born June 27, 1919, in Henryetta, Okla., the daughter of Will and Emma Bowman Leverett. She was a homemaker and member of Silent Grove Baptist Church. She was an avid basketball fan and enjoyed fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Kappler, in 1975, and a son, Earl Kappler, in 1995.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Belote and husband Gary, Ann Anderson and husband Bruce, Mary Reddish and husband Robert, all of Lowell; nine grandchildren, Gina Brown, Matt Belote, Kari Hale, Laurie Walls, Amy Combs, Jason Reddish, Kristi Crutchfield, Courtney Anderson and Casey Anderson; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20 at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale with the Rev. Johnny Harp officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Toby Hale, Wade Brown, Jason Reddish, Clint Combs, Gary Mustain and Matt Belote.
