LaCrosse Man Killed in Fall From Car
Investigation of the death in a Batesville hospital late Saturday night of Floyd Simpson Richardson, 40 of LaCrosse, 5 miles northeast of Melbourne, resulted in a coroner’s jury ordering Lee St. John of Pfeiffer being held for grand jury action, being charged with manslaughter.
Richardson is said to have received the fatal injuries when he fell from a car driven by St. John. The accident occurred Saturday night. Witnesses testified that Richardson fell out of the car as the door opened, with his feet caught in the car, and was dragged a considerable distance along the highway. The accident occurred, seven miles north of Batesville.
Richardson is survived by his wife, his mother, Mrs. W. A. Richardson of LaCrosse; six sons and a sister.
