Jimmie Ray Richardson, son of the late Floyd S. Richardson and Audie Wikerson Richardson, was born October 4, 1933 in Lunenburg, Arkansas. He departed this life November 23, 2014 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 19 days. He spent his life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he served as a firefighter with the Kansas City Fire Department; attaining the rank of Battalion Chief. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.
He is survived by two children: Mike Richardson of Wideman and Debbie Kundert of California; one sister: Rita Palerno of Conway; two grandchildren: Jamie Ray Alpert and Brianna Lee Richardson; one great grandson: Nathan James Alpert; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one half brother: Dorden Richardson three brothers: Joe Richardson, Raybourne Richardson and Glen Richardson.
Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, November 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Reeves Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
