Melbourne Times September 2, 1932 Killed In Motor Car Accident
J. W. Boles of Guion, a former section foreman, was killed instantly Saturday near Buffalo, when the motor car on which he was riding was derailed.
According to reports, a large jack which was on the motor car fell while the car was backing onto a switch and the car was derailed, turning over and crushing him underneath it, breaking his neck and badly bruising his head and face. Some of the other members of the crew were injured seriously, though at last reports, none had died except Mr. Boles.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs Stella Bryant and Miss Nora Boles, all of Guion.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. M. Cooper.
Interment was in the Campbell Cemetery near Guion Monday afternoon.
NOTE: obit incorrectly uses initials 'JW' - W. J. is correct.

Anna Belle Boles
Annabel (born 1880, died 1974). She married William Joseph "Joe" Boles in 1899. She had three daughters: Stella Mae, Nora Elgivia and Ethel Beatrice; and a foster son, Randall. Stella (born 1906) and Nora (born 1910, died 1997) were the only two to survive to adulthood. After Joe's death in 1932 Annabel married George Jackson Shelton of Franklin (another very old family in Izard County) who died in 1949. She died at Batesville at the age of 93 and is buried at Campbell Cemetery near Guion.
